How To Draw An Acorn Step By Step
Autumn is a wonderful time to draw fun and cute things that will make this season come alive and one specific subject that is always fun to draw are acorns. Nothing screams the fall more than acorns and maple leaves.
If you’re here to learn how to draw an acorn step by step, I have created this detailed tutorial that is easy to follow.
Maybe you’ve always had a hard time getting your acorn drawing to look right or perhaps you’ve never even drawn an acorn before, this tutorial is perfect for just about anyone.
At the end of the tutorial, you’ll have a chance to color your drawing and make it pop. So, grab two different shades of a brown color pencil or marker to finish your drawing off.
For now, let’s get started on the first few steps.
Reference
In case you need it, here is a reference image of an acorn you can use to get familiar with the shape of an acorn.

As you can see there are just three parts to an acorn; the top, middle, and bottom. We’ll start by drawing the top of the acorn and then move to the rest of the object.
Steps For Drawing An Acorn
Step 1

Begin by drawing a round shape for the top. Then draw a curved line that joins to the first shape you just drew.
Step 2

Now on either side of that curved line, draw two vertical lines that curve inwards. The draw another slightly curved line to join these two lines together.
Step 3

Then you’ll want to draw two lines going down but make them curve towards each other slightly. There should be a good distance from the top of the acorn to the ends of these two lines.
Step 4

Bring these two lines together by drawing them narrow and ending in a point.
Once you have finished this step, you can then move onto adding the final touches otherwise we can now consider this acorn drawing complete if you don’t want to add any color.
Step 5

The very last step to drawing an acorn is to add the color and here I have used a yellow ochre color for the top and a darker brown for the bottom but you can use any two shades of brown to finish this drawing.
