How To Draw A Truck Step By Step
Would you like to learn how to draw a truck? If drawing cars are your thing, then perhaps you would like drawing trucks a fantastic challenge.
They may not be as good looking as cars and aren’t that eye-catching but there’s a lot to learn from drawing trucks.
It can also help improve your drawing skills since you can practice drawing more rectangles, curves, and circles.
Also, drawing something out of the ordinary will keep your skills and creativity sharp. It also allows for you to get more experience in drawing different objects that may not be your favorite.
For this drawing, all you need is some paper, a pen, and a ruler if you want to get cleaner lines but this is not necessary and this drawing can be done freehand.

This is the reference we will use to draw a truck and we will begin drawing the container first, then the front of the truck with the windows, the front wheel, and then the rest of the truck.
Steps For Drawing A Truck
Step 1
The first step you need to do for drawing a truck is to draw a rectangle.
Since the photo makes the truck look slightly angled, I have done the same. However, you don’t need to do it exactly as I have and it may be easier to just draw it horizontally.
Step 2
On the right side of the rectangle, draw a curved shape first. Then add smaller lines to include the details like the mirrors in the front.
Step 3
Continue adding the truck details by drawing various different curved lines. Draw a smaller line for the door handle.
Step 4
Extend the front of the truck by drawing another line down but make this line curved so that the tyre fits in. Then draw a circle for the tyre and another two smaller circles inside of that tyre. Add the last shape that joins the tyre.
Step 5
From the first half of the container, draw three sets of horizontal lines. Then draw two rectangles below that making the one in the middle of that shape smaller.
Step 6
Join that rectangle line by drawing another box shape like this.
Step 7
Now it’s time to add the other wheel. Draw a circle with two smaller circles inside of it but draw another line coming out of the tyre to make it look more dimensional. Then draw these two curved lines framing the wheel.
Step 8
From the top of the wheel, draw another rectangle to the end of the container and draw another smaller angled shape towards the end. And that’s all there is to drawing a truck.
Step 9
Here’s what your truck drawing should look like if you choose to color it in. I’ve used a few warm shades to color my truck drawing in but you can opt for brighter colors if you think they will look better.

Did you find learning how to draw a truck easy? I do feel that if you use a ruler to draw the boxes and some of the other shapes, the drawing will be neater but for a freehand drawing, I don’t think this one is too bad.
