Reference
To make it easier for you, I have included this reference image of a Santa hat for you.
We will be drawing one that is similar to this and the first part we will draw in the white band of the cap, then the overall shape of the cap and lastly, the small white pom pom at the end.
Steps For Drawing A Santa Hat
Step 1: Draw the base of the hat
To begin your Santa hat drawing, start by sketching out a horizontal cloud shape like this.
Step 2: Draw the shape of the hat
On the one side, draw a long curved line from the top and on the other side draw a shorter curved line.
Step 3: Add curved lines to make the hat droopy
At the top of the first line you just drew, draw another curved line coming down. On the left, extend that line higher up making it slightly more curved.
Step 4: Draw two lines parallel lines going down
Now continue drawing those two lines further down but making them more narrow in size.
Step 5: Draw the final details
All that is left to do is to draw the final detail which is the white pom pom. You can do this by drawing a slightly rounded cloud shape as I have down over here and your Santa hat drawing is now completed.
Step 6: Add color to your drawing
The only thing to make this drawing even better is to add a bright shade of red to your Santa hat and it should look amazing.
Conclusion
As I was creating this guide on how to draw a santa hat, it occured to me how fun this was. I’m really happy and impressed with the way the final drawing turned out and I hope you found this drawing easy to follow.
So, the next time you plan to draw Santa himself, don’t forget to use this guide to draw his hat! I mean, Santa without his hat would be so wrong.
