How To Draw A Mushroom In Just 6 Easy Steps
When you don’t know what to draw but you still want to draw something fun and easy, a simple drawing of a mushroom is all you need.
If you would like to learn how to draw a mushroom from beginning to end and learn how to go about coloring it in to make it look beautiful, here’s my step-by-step guide that will show you all you need to know.
There are a few different types of mushrooms that come in all shapes and sizes that make them an interesting subject to take the time to draw.
Some mushrooms can be eaten while others can be incredibly poisonous.
However, what I love the most about drawing mushrooms is that although it’s simple in structure, if you take a closer look, there is quite a lot of detail to them which you will see soon.
Let’s get started.

For the sake of this tutorial, we’ll be focusing on learning how to draw a simple mushroom so that anyone can draw it.
We will begin our drawing by starting with the head of the mushroom and adding the small dots on the head to create the details and lastly, moving down to the stem.
Steps For Drawing A Mushroom
Step 1
Start of your mushroom drawing by sketching out a curved shape like this. If you need to draw a circle to help you get the shape right, you can do so but as you can see, our curved shape is not completely perfect and neither does yours.
Step 2
Head over to bottom of that shape and draw another line that is uneven to create a shape such as this. At the bottom towards the center, draw two lines coming down.
Step 3
We’ll go back to the head of the mushroom to draw a few circles throughout that shape. Make sure to vary up the size of these circles to add some variety and interest to the mushroom.
Step 4
Continue drawing those two lines down until you are happy with a length that you want. Then add another squiggly line to close off this shape.
Step 5
Proceed to drawing two longer lines connecting to squiggly line from before. Your mushroom drawing should be taking shape right now and it should look somewhat similar to reference.
Step 6
All that is left to do is to draw a curved line facing inwards to join those two lines together and you have just drawn your first mushroom. Was that fun and easy?
You can now go ahead and color in the head of the mushroom with a bright shade of red if you want.
Adding color to this drawing is highly recommended and I’m sure you can see how it makes this mushroom look even more awesome.
