This is the reference we will use to come up with a simple hat design.
We won’t be drawing this hat exactly the way it is in the reference but it will be a similar hat.
To draw this hat, we will begin by drawing the top of the hat first and then the circle that comes around it.
Steps For Drawing A Hat
Step 1
Start off by drawing a wavy horizontal line. On either side of that line draw a curved line going down.
Step 2
To join those two lines together, draw another curved line facing upwards. This will be the top of the hat.
Step 3
Towards the end of that shape,, draw two curved lines at an equal distance away from this top of the hat.
Step 4
Extend these lines further making it curve around the first shape. It should look something like this.
Step 5
Continue drawing that curved line until it reaches the front and the brim of the hat should be done.
This is what your final drawing of a hat will look like but if you want you can choose to make the top of the hat longer by extending the first two lines you had drawn and your hat will look a little different from this one.
Step 6
The final step is to color your drawing in. I’m chosen to use a light shade of brown but you can pick any color you want.
You don’t need to go for the color that I have chosen but you could try coloring it in with a red, blue, or even green shade if you want to have some fun with it.
