Here’s the reference we will be working from to draw our couch. As you can see, it’s a simple yet stylish one but what I love the most about it is the overall design.

In this tutorial, we’ll try to capture the way this couch looks in our drawing and we will begin by drawing lower part first, then the arms, the seats, and the cushions.

Steps For Drawing A Couch

Step 1

To start your drawing, begin by drawing two parallel lines as I have done over here however on the left side, draw a short angled line on each of those lines you had just drawn.

Step 2

To draw the arms of the couch, draw two lines on one side and then join those two lines by drawing a curved line. Repeat this process on the other side except drawing that facing the appropriate direction.

Step 3

Now it’s time to start drawing the back seats. You can do this by drawing two curved lines from the first arm rest while making that second line higher up.

Step 4

Continue drawing these curved lines until you reach the other end of the couch arm. Your drawing should look something like this.

Step 5

From each point of those curves, draw a line coming down as this will show the separation between each back cushion to make it look like individual cushions.

Step 6

Now it’s time to draw the seats and this can be done by drawing another few curvy lines. Make the middle seat more curved while the previous one a little wavy for interest.

Step 7

Add the last seat by drawing another curve on the other side and join it to the middle seat. Your couch drawing is now completed and it’s time to color it in.

I’ve chosen to go for a warm shade such as yellow but you can choose to use any color you feel will look awesome.

Conclusion

I had a lot of fun drawing this couch and I do hope you had fun too leanring how to draw a couch. For me, I difinitely will be drawing more couches in the future but ones with different designs and sizes to challenge myself.

It’s great to draw new things and discover objects that make fantastic drawings. I think this particular one is no doubt a great drawing and it’s ideal if you eventually want to draw a room later one.
