Reference
To make things more simple, here’s a reference image of the cat we’ll be drawing. We will start by drawing the ears and top of the head, then move onto drawing the face and then the rest of the body.
Steps For Drawing A Cat
Step 1
STart by drawing the two ears of the cat. Make one more pointy while the other more curved and shape. Between these two ears, draw a curved line for the top of the head to connect these two lines.
Step 2
On either side of the ears, draw two curved lines to create the shape of the face. Leave the center of the face open.
Then draw two short lines on the side of that. Head over to the middle of the face and draw the two eyes. Don’t forget to add a dot for the inside.
Then leave a space and in the middle draw a V shape for the nose. Add a short vertical line and joined to that an upside-down V shape for the mouth.
Finally, add a few curved lines to show the whiskers.
Step 3
Those two short lines you had drawn previously, extend them further down to a considerable length.
However, for the right side, make that line curvier. Joined to this line, draw a slightly wavy line next to it.
Head back to the other side and draw a short line at an angle.
Step 4
The next step you need to do is to draw a curved line on the right side.
Then draw the legs and paws of the cat in the middle of the body to show the cat in a sitting position.
Step 5
Now draw the back leg paw and you can do this by drawing a wide curved line. Add the back paw details as well.
Step 6
To finish your drawing, add the other side of the cat’s body and you should be done.
I had forgotten to draw the tail but you can go ahead and do this next.
Now, this cat drawing is completed. It’s not necessary to add color but you may do so if you feel it will add some life to this drawing.
